Methods To Getting Rid Of Grout
Clean The Grout Using Oxygenated Bleach
- Take 2 tablespoons of oxygenated bleach and add into 2 cups of warm water.
- Bleaching powder present in bleach can damage grout but is gentle enough to be used on all tiles.
- Before cleaning the entire floor test the hidden corners of the grout as some grouts for tiles may be discolored by oxygenated bleach.Apply a small quantity of solution on a discrete section of grout to test colorfastness.
- Pour oxygenated bleach directly on the grout so that all the grout lines are fully covered. To avoid completely wet floor clean one section of the floor.
- Allow the solution to sit on the grout for a few minutes and then scrub the solution using a nylon brush.
- You can also dip the brush in oxygenated bleach powder to enhance the cleaning effect. If there is any stain harder to move then use a stronger solution of bleach.
Use Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda, And Dish Soap To Clean Grout
- Make a paste with the help of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap. These three components will work as natural abrasive for scrubbing grout and helps loosen dirt and remove the grease from grout.
- Use a nylon-bristled brush to scrub the grouts for better cleaning and then leave the mixture to settle for about 15 minutes.
- To remove the solution rinse the grout with warm water. and then use a rag to wipe the water and remove any leftover residue.
Use Baking Soda And Vinegar
- Mix baking soda and water in 3:1 ratio and make a thick paste.
- Apply this paste to lines between the tiles and with your finger.
- Although baking soda is harmless still you must wear rubber gloves to prevent irritated skin or scratches from baking soda and abrasive grout.
- Make a solution of water and white vinegar in the equal ratio in a spray bottle.
- If your tiles are made from natural stone then using vinegar is made of natural stone.
- Wait till the solution stops bubbling, as bubbling action is the chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda.
- When the bubbling stops chemical reaction is also over and then scrub the grout between the tiles with a brush. Pay close attention to the edges and corners to make them clean as well.
- Now mop the floor with clean plain water. often change the water during the cleaning process.
